I can sit.

While we were vacationing in Jackson, we figured why not vist some folks we have not seen in a while? So last Thursday, we made the journey to Madison, MS and the home of Mandy and Matt Fisher. Mandy was Ashley's college roomate for four years; she and Matt met while in graduate school and just recently moved to Madison from Dothan, AL. They now have two beautiful children, Caroline and Will, who helped to entertain Eden with their toys.

Caroline was especially interested in showing Eden how to play with certain toys and in telling her all about what it's like to be a "big girl."

Eden appreciated the talk (and the funny faces that Caroline made).

Earlier that day we took some photos and propped Eden up in front of a chair so she wouldn't topple over when Ashley took her picture. So, Ashley felt as if Eden needed propping here, too (notice her hand around Eden's waist).

Seems like some time that afternoon Eden just decided she could sit! We were sitting aroung talking at Mandy and Matt's, and Ashley looked up at me after a few minutes and said, "Are you seeing this?" Eden had been sitting unassisted for a good 5 minutes. We then sat in amazement for 15 or 20 minutes as Eden simply sat up BY HERSELF, playing with toys and looking around. This was a first, indeed.

Eden was VERY excited.

Now, she's an old pro. We can officially put Eden on her playmat sitting up without fear of her falling ... well, at least not falling immediately. She's still a bit unbalanced and will watch someone leave the room even if that means turning her head so far that she falls backward, but that too shall pass.

Oh my goodness! I can't believe how fast she is growing up! I hear you'll be gracing us with your presence in W.L. soon! Will Eden be joining? Miss you all!

Caroline wants Eden to come back again soon so that she can teach her some more tricks!
