4th of July!!

On July 4, 1979, the world started celebrating the birthday of Elizabeth Faucher with large amounts of fireworks, sangria, and hotdogs (Her birthday is actually on the 3rd but whose parents wouldn't try to convince their child the 4th was all for them?). That tradition continued yesterday during the Munz Family Sangria and Hotdog Extravaganza. Below are pictures to prove its existence.
Of course, no celebration is complete without a competitive game of Bacci Ball. And, of course, Lance and I won...and Lance, how many of our 5 points did you score again?

These absolutely georgeous photographs are of Lucy Claire...the daughter of some of Joshua' and Elizabeth's closest friends. After saying "ball" several times, she developed an interest in Ashley's camera. That's her dad (Tommy) below, encouraging her to show her tongue.

I'm not sure what you guys are laughing at here...I think Joshua is talking in his "Bubba" voice again.

Ashley would most likely want me to point out that this photograph represents two great aspects of American life - Coca-Cola and Baseball. And then there is the whole red, white and blue phenomenon that people can't get enough of on the 4th.

Since Ashley is taking prelims, she needs some brain recovery fuel every once-and-a-while. Sangria did the trick. She is back to her studies today after a brief hangover and a few advil. Just kidding, the sangria was non-alcoholic, right? [**Editor's Clarification ... I did not take any advil today. ~ashley]

And what 4th of July is complete without sparklers? Ashley was experimenting with some features on her new digital camera. I'm not sure what I was experimenting with in the third picture...have I seen a sparkler before?

After the sun had gone down and we enjoyed a few fireworks, we all sang "Happy Birthday" to Elizabeth...and after eating Joshua's homemade ice cream cake we sang "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow". If you're curious how to sing that in French it goes:

"Car c'est un bon camarade, car c'est un bon camarade,
Car c'est un bon camarade (pause), et qu'on est tous d'accord."

To good friends and branded t-shirts...may we eat hotdogs and drink sangria on the 4th of July every year.

Thanks for the rave review and the great photos! I'm not sure why the rain likes to follow us to our gatherings on the 4th but I appreciate Team Bodie's unwavering support of our zany party themes!

Love the pictures! Especially the ones of Lucy Claire. How'd you do the one with three in a row?

I did it in photoshop and just pulled the photos in as 3 layers. deleted the parts i didn't want to make them the right size, left space between, and then flattened the image. I love the way it looks. :)
