Ashley Turns 30

March 10...This day means alot in American history.* On March 10, 1496 Christopher Columbus concluded his second visit to the Western Hemisphere. In 1864, Ulysses S. Grant was appointed commander of the Union armies. In 1969, James Earl Ray pleaded guilty to charges he assassinated Martin Luther King Jr. Of course, most importantly, in 1978 Laura Ashley Jones was born.

That means that Ashley completed 3 decades of living on Monday...WOW! (Just as a side note, I have yet to complete my third decade.)

For her birthday all she wanted was to hang out with friends...the Thursday before her birthday I told her that most of our friends were out-of-town for the Spring Break holiday, so only a few people would be available and only for a 9:00 dessert. At 6:00 we took a short drive downtown so "I could show Ashley her birthday present." While we were gone, 20 of our friends snuck into our house and prepared to yell "Surprise!"

Ashley's Reaction...

Happy 30 Years of Living and Being Beautiful, Ashley!!!!! 143GB
