For those of you reading out there in blogland, just wanted to give you an update amidst all the posts about old things. Graham, Eden, and I are currently "evaucated" to my parents' house in Jackson, Mississippi, due to hurricane Gustav.
We were already headed here for the Labor Day holiday weekend and just ended up staying a bit longer. LSU is officially closed for the week and is supposed to open on Monday.
Graham made the drive down to Baton Rouge this morning to check on our house and take some stuff down that my parents have been graciously storing for us for 4 years. His report: the house is fine, a few windows blew open, a little bit of water blew in, but mainly all is well. Our house is still without power and there were houses down the street with huge oak trees on top of them -- they're saying this is the worst hurricane to hit Baton Rouge since 1965.
Anyhow, we thankfully have a great place to stay for the next few days before we head back down and are thankful that no major damage occurred at our home. We'll have more to post about our adventures "evacuating" to Jackson sometime soon.
