sick days

Last Wednesday Eden formed a cold that got pretty bad by Thursday morning. She was coughing, and her nose was running like the air conditioning in June. Ashley stayed home with Eden on Thursday so that Eden did not expose all the other kids to her illness. They played inside some, and at one point Ashley walked into the den to find Eden reading a book and watching Sesame Street at the same time. She was literally watching tv and turning pages at the same time - a multi-tasker already?
Then, they went outside and played "find the kitty." Can you see the kitty under the car? Eden definitely could.

There she is! And, here's another ...

After that, it was time to stroll her Teddy up and down the sidewalk (this has become a new favorite).

When I got home one night, she wanted to show me how she could walk up and down with her stroller and how she can lift it over any obstacle. She is quite determined and independent with her strolling. She has even been known to push away a helping hand from the stroller if you are touching it and she wants to do it herself.
I took Eden to the ped on Friday, and thankfully it's just a cold virus. So we continued with our "sick days" over the weekend. Over the next few days, Eden showed me and Ashley how she sleeps at PDO (suppose she missed that place because she kept saying "More, more" and wanting us to put the blanket on her).
I started to drag her around the house on her mat which she thought was amazing. Then I stopped. Bad idea. I could see unsuccessful naptimes in her future if that was her expectation ...
After she had been sick for a day or so, some of her friends curiously also started to get sick, too. She took care of them.

She never really felt "bad" since she was running around and smiling the whole weekend. But, her cough is still there along with her runny nose. It hurts to hear her cough (as we're sure it hurts her), and she's also teething now as well. We're ready for our healthy Eden back and hope this cold goes away soon.
