Courtney & Britton's Wedding

On Saturday, August 9, 2009, Courtney Church was lucky enough to marry into the Jones Family. Yes! It is complete!

Ashley and Whitney could not be happier to gain another sister ...

Although August in Mississippi can be absolutely miserable due to the heat and humidity, that Saturday was quite mild. Good thing since pictures were scheduled for the heat of the day. The photo shoot took place at the Big Truck Theatre in Taylor, Mississippi. This is also where the reception was held. Why "Big Truck Theatre"? you ask. Well, it's a theatre with a big truck ... rather ingenious for a town only 15 minutes from Oxford.

Courtney and Britton's wedding also marked the first occasion that Ashley and I have used any sort of nursery with Eden. She did great! Not a peep. She also met some new friends!

The reception was a fun time for all ...

They even had soda for the occasion.
Was that soda spiked?
As soon as Eden entered the party, it was "Ooooohhhh ... let me hold that baby!"

The first dance was to "Me and Mrs. Jones." Quite appropriate, huh? Courtney and Britton came out throught the curtain, danced on the big truck ...

... and then rode away as they pulled out the truck to clear off the dance floor.

The band then kicked the reception off right with Motown classics like Marvin Gaye and Rick James as well as other hits from James Brown and a host of other dance tunes.

The loud noise and excitment was a little too much for Eden. So, I took her outside for a diaper change ... on the big truck of course ...

Then it was off to find a quiet place to sit down. Like the graduation ceremony at Purdue, there is also a baby culture at weddings. On our way to the front porch, we met William Taylor Beasley and his grandmother. Will is the son of one of Britton's best childhood friends, and his parents were already playing matchmakers with little Will and Eden.

While on the porch, Eden has several visitors including Larry and Linda Swales.

And, of course, the grandparents could not stay away too long.

In the meantime there was cake cutting ...
And what wedding would be complete without the father of the groom nearly driving the get-away car into a ditch ... that's right folks! All ended well, as Chip successfully cleared the ditch and brought the get away car, Uncle Jay's restored VW bug, right up front for the newlyweds. It looks like Boston got it all on camera ... should be a fun home movie for years to come.

To the newlyweds ... Congratulations! We wish you the best on your new life together.
