On Saturday night, Jennie and Wesley threw Ashley, Eden, and me a "see you later" party. How wonderful ARE they? Not only have they been some of our best friends in Lafayette, they continue to amaze us by their unselfishness and hospitality. We're certainly going to miss the ability to see them ... Eden was quite sad when she left the Rosier house, but she kept saying "It's a see you later party, not a good-bye party." Indeed.

The Jensens were also there. Robin and Jake came to Purdue last year as new Assistant Professors. Their advice about the job search process, spousal hiring tactics, and just general life lessons were invaluable.

Mark Williams, Andy King, Brian Van Pelt, and I also got to spend some time together, talking marathons, why cats have 9 lives, the mystery of underwater basket weaving, and philosophy.

Lora Adams stopped by, representing the Frinks crew; the other girls were scattered around the world (Iowa, Switzerland, the Dominican Republic) and one just had a baby this week so they couldn't make it. When Ashley and I first moved here, she joined a group called Professionals in Communication primarily to search for jobs. What happened along the way was her establishing some really good, lifelong friends. Lora moves to Denver, CO the week after we move to LA to start her new job with the University of Colorado -Denver.

Eden also finally got to meet Abigail. We also got to formally congratulate her on her recent engagement to Mr. Andy King!

Robin, Abagail, Brenda, and Eden cracked up about old times ... yes, fun was had by all!

Of course, Eden's BFF, Sydney, wasn't going to miss the party for anything. As a bonus, she was awake and talkative, sharing her sentiments and good wishes to Eden in her Louisiana adventure.

To end the night, everyone entertained Eden by playing with sparklers. Although not yet dark, it was quite a show!

Several others did make the party; we were, however, more consumed by getting to talk to everyone than taking pictures. Thank you to ALL who came and for those who did not make it, we missed you but will SEE YOU AGAIN SOON!!!
