Jungle animals, Jungle gym

Yesterday, Ashley and I packed Eden and her thousand necessities for a family trip to the Baton Rouge Zoo. It would be a wonderful family outing, showing Eden all those fun animals (she was especially looking forward to the monkeys). We thought she'd be perfectly content with a dog exhibit, so we couldn't wait to see her reactions to even more exciting animals.

We arrived at the BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo around 11:00 a.m. ... just in time for Eden to decide to take a nap!

Seems as if the only giraffee she will see for a while is Georgia ... her new lovie.



So, we did what any responsible parents would do ... we let her sleep - plus, clouds were in the sky, and Ashley and I were hungry.


We decided that the next best thing was the jungle-themed playground at Chick-Fil-A ...

Eden absolutely had a BLAST watching the big kids run around! Although she could not play on all the fun things, she was able to see her silly reflection and to meet a few new friends.

She and Ashley had a grand-ole-time in the tree house. Eden crawled up the slide, into and around the tree house, and nearly down the slide (until I made sure that did not end our day early).

After happy-fun-playtime was over, we went next door to Target (where we realized that we had just entered a new phase in our lives ... apparently all the other parents we saw at Chick-Fil-A had the same idea ... is there a club we're not being invited to join?).

Overall, our Saturday was o-so-much-fun ... Eden took another nap on the way home while Ashley and I drove through about a dozen neighborhoods. We saw where we definitely did not want to live as well as places that were quite nice.

Perhaps we'll get an email in the next few days asking us to join the Saturday Family Club ...
