A few days after Sarah left, the remainder of the Bodie clan arrived in Lafayette - having been behind the wheel since 6:45 a.m. CDT. Eden's Big Daddy was the first to hold her (this was the first time they had met!).
As a background story, when we asked my dad what he wanted his grandfather name to be, he thought for a minute then said, "I'd like to keep the Big Daddy tradition going." I had a Big Daddy - Robert Tisdale Brooks, Sr. - who recently passed. He was very special to me, and I know Eden's Big Daddy will be very special to her.
After Big Daddy wore her out, it was Aunt Ashley's turn to spoil, I mean hold, Eden.
And then on to Nona - who Eden loves VERY much (so much so she wanted a shirt to proclaim it).
Over the next several days, there was some chillin' with Big Daddy ...
Some strollin' around Lafayette (sense a theme?) ...
... and some bath time ... mainly my parents and sister took care of Eden while Ashley and I got some much needed writing done.
When they left on Saturday afternoon, it became obvious that "good-byes" would be forever changed.
Saying good-bye now entails good-bye to Eden (and us since we're holding her) ...
Even the hugs have changed ...
We certainly enjoyed the visit!!!
And so did Eden, who had to rest after her super-fun-time.
