Praying out loud

Sorry that May has gotten off to a slow start ... since Whitney (Ashley's sister) arrived on Tuesday, Ashely and I have been busy working - she on her Chapter Two and I on a boatload of physiological data for my Chapter Four. We both finished at least one of our accomplishments and celebrated by cleaning the house. It's amazing how good a clean house can make you feel, huh?

But I digress ... and you're here for Eden. So.... funny story!

This past Sunday (April 27) we took Eden to church for the first time. She wanted to get dressed up, so we let her ...

Church started at 11:15 - and of course we arrived around 11:20 (still getting used to getting us and her ready to get out the door). Eden was all snug and asleep in her carseat, and we found an aisle seat in the back just in time to sing a few worship songs.

Then it was time for prayer. It was completely silent except for the preacher and occasional cough and sneeze ... and then, Eden. As soon (no lie) as the preacher asked the congregation to "silently lift up" their joys and concerns not voiced by him, Eden began to cry. Yep ... seems like she does not like to pray in silence ... who knew!?!

So, we were "those parents" who can't "quiet their child" during the prayer ... at least we know what that feels like now (I suppose every parent should). Ashley quickly picked up the carseat and took Eden to the "cry room" in the back of the sanctary. They stayed there the entire service - with Eden quiet the entire time - go figure!

Of course, after church she was all settled down as well ...

Welcome to my world. :) I'd like to tell you it gets better, but with this being a post about church and all I'd hate to lie. Church has been a wrestling match ever since Josh came into the picture. However, this also means that there is never a dull moment at church either. :)
