30 seconds flat ...

It was Tuesday afternoon around 5:00. There was a brief knock at the door. When I opened it nobody was there. I looked around the corner to see our neighbor running around quite frantically. "Hey. Do you need something?" I yelled. "Yes," she replied. "Pliers. And QUICK!"

Without asking I rushed to the toolbox, retrieved a pair of pliars, ran them to my neighbor, and asked if I could do anything to help. Then the smell hit me ... gas. Apparently, she had tried to turn the stove off and the knob crumbled in her hand. In the span of a minute, the entire apartment was full of gas fumes.

She called 911 and literally 30 seconds later, the firetruck and ambulance could be heard. In a minute, they were there (fully decked out in their gear, of course) and rushing to her apartment to turn off the gas.

Eden was quite impressed ...

Apparently, we needed this little adventure before we left Lafayette.
