When we had Eden's 6 month appointment, the doctor said to lower her mattress and take off the bumper pads ... "She'll be pulling up soon!" Indeed, she is, and we followed those instructions. Unfortunately, however, Eden rolls around quite a bit in her sleep. Every so often, we hear a THUD coming from her room. Sometimes, she has small bruises on her head ... either aliens or, more plausible, she hits her head on her crib. Plus during several naps, she has woken up screaming with one leg sticking through the crib slats ... perhaps it is our parental anxiety, but that spells potential disaster. Ashley just couldn't get over it even though the doctor said no bumpers was best.
So, what are we to do? "Martha" Jones-Bodie to the rescue ...
Ashley attached a piece of material to the back of the crib and covered a piece of cardboard with the same material for the front portion (needed something to keep the front piece up since she couldn't tie around the top of the hinge). We think it's a reasonable solution since Eden is unable to use either piece as a step to propel herself higher. Do you see anything we're missing about this?
A wonderful and tasteful solution, indeed!

So I need you to come do this to Bo's crib! He is the worst at getting arms and legs stuck ALL the time! Looks awesome!
i love it!
You're awesome, Ashley! We're picking up our crib this weekend (same crib as you). I have a mattress, but I don't have sheets or anything yet!
