smart girl

On Valentine's Day morning, Eden and I let Graham sleep in and had an early, but still nice, morning relaxing in her bed and then falling back asleep for a bit. After we woke up again and spent some time staring out her window (one of her favorite morning rituals), I asked her if she wanted to go get some breakfast, if she was hungry, while making the sign for eat. She immediately crawled up into my lap with her pacifier in her mouth and Miss Georgia [her giraffe lovee] firmly in her hand, as if to say, "Ok, let's go."

So, I thought, "Hmmm, let's see what else she understands this morning."

The next little test went like this ... "So, Eden, we're about to go in the kitchen to eat breakfast. Can we leave your paci [[fier]] in here and come get it later? Can I have your paci please?"

She opened her mouth and dropped her paci into my hand.

Then, we stood up, walked over to her crib, and I said, "Ok, let's leave Miss Georgia in your bed and get her later when you want to take a nap. Put Miss Georgia in your bed, please."

She reached her arm out, opened her little hand, and down went Miss Georgia in to the crib.

Wow. A very smart little girl indeed.
