front yard make-over

Perhaps a fortuitous happening, but before I realized that I had mixed up my weekends to visit friends in NOLA, Ashley and I had planned on a little front yard makeover. The plan was for me to go to the True Value and price the sod and flowers then pick it up on Saturday. When I went by Friday morning, they had 47 pieces left with a new truckload coming on Monday ... so I bought everything they had, hoping it would fit our space.

p.s., you can fit exactly 47 pieces of sod in the trunk of a 1998 Toyota Camry (yes, it was lined with garbage bags) ...

Although we cut it close (Ashley started pulling weeds while I was at the store and Eden was napping, and I started laying the sod at 4 pm on Friday), we finished with Ashley deciding on the final spots for the stepping stones at 6:15, and with just enough time to make it to the LSU-Auburn baseball game at 7:00. Then, of course, on Saturday, we had to change plans to get to New Orleans ... funny how life works out ...
