While in Mobile, we met up with a dear friend we met while in Lafayette, Lindsay Reinert. Since she now lives in Iowa, she loves it. Which reminds us of one of our grad school friends, Marisa, who had more love for Iowa than any one person should be allowed! But, I digress. Lindsay met us for lunch after church on Sunday, and we drove to Baton Rouge so Lindsay could mark it off on her "to do while in the south" list. Also on that list ... play with Eden.
And get a tour of LSU ... which is not complete without a view of Mike.
And who could forget the crawfish? Lindsay's motto while in the South was to try as much local fare as possible. So we indulged her with crawfish from the local Country Corner (basically a convenience store that sells boiled crawfish, potatoes, and corn 7 days a week - you just have to get there early before they run out).
Crawfish present a unique eating challenge ... what DO you do with those things? Pull the head. Suck the head. Peal the tail. Eat the tail. Simple!
After a brief crawfish lesson, we hung out with a few local beer (Abita Harvet Ale). Although a short trip, it was fun. Come back soon, Lindsay!
