quick trip to no.la

Last weekend, it was a grand surprise to find out that a few franternity brothers were to be in New Orleans for Jazz Fest. Actually, I technically "knew" a week before but got my weekends mixed up. So, on Saturday morning, after realizing my mistake, Ashley, Eden, and I loaded up and took the quick 75 mile drive south.
We met the crew at a restaurant just outside of Jackson Square. There were oysters, and crawfish, and jambalaya, oh my!

[Editor's Note: The guys wanted the stroller in the photo. Guess they thought it funny that they now all have kids.]

yes, ashley and eden were there, too (someone had to take the picture, no?)\

The reason I had the weekends mixed up was because another friend, Matt Davidson, had planned a trip from April 30th to May 3rd. This time, I did the drive myself and spent a day and night in NOLA. It was a good "break," and Davidson and I had some long-overdue QT. Although my plan was to go down for breakfast, spend a little time, then come home ... day destroyed the night, night divided to day ... Perhaps a tell-tale sign that I'm old, I woke up at 5:45 the next morning, drove home, and the family made it to church on time.

Overall, we had a good time. There are no pictures (perhaps a good thing :), just fond memories.

Although we write it alot, it is really a blessing to be closer to old friends and family whom we have not seen for several years.
