a "new" office

When we got to LSU the Department did not have enough office space for everyone in the main building. So, Ashley was given an office in a building across the quad. Then, one day this summer Ashley got an email - "You're getting a new office." That office is not only in Coates, but it also happens to be the upstairs counterpart to my office. Strange.

It would be slightly more cool if we were on the same side of the hall. Ashley jokes that if her office was directly above mine she could just stomp on the floor to ask me to come up. We imagine it would have become some strange (and funny) rumor in the Department after a few years. Oh well, no such luck.

Here is what the new space looks like.

Ashley has already had several stop-ins now that she is in the same building as most other departmental members. We also got to walk to the library and get coffee twice. Does that count as a date?

On the first day of the semester, Ashley went to teach her Advanced Public Speaking class. It is held directly across the hall from my office. Then, on Tuesday, I went to teach my Interpersonal Communication course. Where? Directly across the hall from her office. Strange.
