one more trip

A few weekends ago, I made one last trip up to Jackson before the semester started. It was a short one, less than 36 hours, but a good one. I had two excuses for making the trip. One, to go to Lauren Lee's wedding ...

Lauren's momma, Miss Janet, and my momma have been friends since before either Lauren or I were born. So, it was especially important for me to be there. Everything was beautiful, and they even had the reception at the Old Capital Inn, where Graham and I had ours.

My second excuse was to meet Miss Lucy Ruth, daughter of my good friend Mary.

Mary's middle name is Ruth, and her momma's middle name is Ruth, and her momma's ... you get the idea. Such a sweet thing to pass on to her own daughter. Mary also has two cute little boys, but I was so busy visiting that I didn't get a picture of them or of me and Mary together. Guess that will have to wait til next time.

I guess I must feel like I get to see my Momma and Daddy quite a bit since I evidently didn't take a photo of us while I was in town either {I think I like that feeling}. While we missed having Eden and Graham with us, I got to spend lots of time just sitting and talking to Momma and Daddy without interruption - topics of conversation that I can remember included parenting, house buying, mortgages, my brother and sister (all good!), the shopping deals Momma and I found, and lots of other things. It was exactly the visit I needed before the craziness of the semester started.
