The other night, I saw an episode of Ace of Cakes where they replicated a woman's bag and its spilled out contents as a surprise birthday cake. They were talking about how cool it is for a cake idea because when you spill out someone's bag you see their life. Hmmmm ... what's in my bag today? I couldn't resist.
I am one of those people who switch out bags, but for most of the summer it's been my circle dot bag that I use when I'm out and E is with me ... and that's been most of the time {woo-hoo}. So, here's the list of the loot after an afternoon of errands:
- changing pad & diaper wallet {although we're not having to change diapers while out nearly as much anymore}
- notes about a project I was working on
- extra sweaters {one for me and one for E} since it's 100 degrees outside but chilly in stores in the AC
- E's sunglasses, sunhat {which is a must in the LA sun and no-tree parking lots}, and sunscreen {I think neutrogena made that ad just for me}
- Winnie, whom Eden wanted when we left but didn't want once we got in the car
- her Eden bag with dried fruit in it{"Just Fruit" and "Just Veggies" from Whole Foods are some of E's favorites}, I had to grab the E bag at the last minute b/c it had the diaper wallet in it that G forgot to put back in my bag
- my wallet {and keys and phone -- with speed dial numbers: mom-dad-britt-whit-and-graham in the middle -- and camera of course although they didn't make the photo}
- lip stuff and writing stuff
- one of my grandmother's old handkercheifs for E's runny nose since using an entire kleenex each time I wipe her nose seems wasteful
Whew ... that's a lot of stuff
In my wallet, though, are some of the real treasures ...
- my fake wedding rings bought at claire's when I was pregnant and so swollen I couldn't wear my own
- the "engagement" ring I made to match the one I gave Graham when we got engaged {'cause I didn't want to not have something for him}
- money from England
- a plastic spider ... a halloween happy left in my box at purdue by my friend Suzy - how random is that?
- pony-tail holder and bobbi pins
- my sis's gorgeous prewedding photo taken by my cousin
- one of our "new address" cards with my sweet little baby from when we moved last year
- and a single dollar
So, what's in your bag?

This is an awesome post and I would just like to point out that Suzy's spiders rock. We should send her a package of them this Halloween! What a good memory :)
