the almost completely finished "nursery"

Eden's room was finished on her first birthday, so perhaps it is no longer a "nursery" in the technical sense. In any case, IT'S DONE! (Well, Ashley says except for a rug but that's going to wait for a while.) And it looks quite good!

The sheets are from Pottery Barn Kids. Ashley felt like the room needed something "young" (since it looked quite "grown up" with the curtains), so she couldn't help but buying them. As she says, she decided to "splurge" on cute little girl sheets.

Even after the curtains, new furniture, etc. the room still seemed a little bare since the walls had nothing on them. So, we finally got around to hanging her letters, originally a gift from Mica and Belle Stevens ...

... and Ashley felt the need to hang one of her all-time favorite outfits of Eden's that no longer fits.

... and we were able to add the rocking chair I had growing up, one of Eden's birthday presents from my parents, to go with the rocking chair Ashley's mom used to rock her as a baby ...

Here's what it looked like when we first moved things in and got her furniture arranged - prior to new curtains, sheets, or painted furniture.

And this is the day that Ashley spent painting my old baby chest-of-drawers and our hand-me-down end tables that were her Mama Sally's. You can tell the color of the furniture by looking at Ashley's elbow. Eden was fascinated with pushing the buttons on the sound machine sitting on the side table.

Although it has been a long time coming, Eden reports that the room is a hit! It feels like a little girl's room ... kind of weird. The video is a tour of the room by Ashley, who had lots of fun planning, finding, working on, and tweaking everything.
