Unbeknownst to her parents, on Monday and Tuesday of this week, Eden started adjusting her bedtime schedule. It took two nights for us to notice that she didn't really want a full bottle right at bedtime anymore. The result of course was a baby awake at 4:30 am ready for some more food.
By Wednesday night, we got smart (or at least caught up to Eden). We decided to let Eden have a small bottle of milk before her bath and planned to give her the other half just before bed. By the time I was putting her to bed after her bath, she was nearly asleep even before drinking a few ounces.
So, on Thursday, we thought we had a plan ... dinner, play some like normal, have part of a bottle before her bath, bathtime, then her usual bedtime routine with me and the second half of the bottle, followed by a sleepy baby drifting off to sleep. Well of course it didn't go as planned.
Eden did ask for some milk while we were reading books on her bed and Graham was running her bath water. So, we ended up with a little naked baby drinking her bottle (trying to air out after from a little bit of diaper rash). So far, so good.
The bath lastest all of 5 minutes with Graham yelling from the bathroom, "Um, she's trying to go to sleep in the tub. I think she's ready to get out." [[Graham told me later that she was putting her head down on the side of the tub.]] By the time I had her in my arms and then put her on the bed (with her towel still on, paci in mouth, and Georgia in hand), her eyes were closed and her breathing was deep, before I could even finish getting her sleeper on.
I held her in my arms for a few minutes after she was finally dressed even though she was pretty much already asleep. So, does this mean that the era of holding a sleepy baby while she has her bottle and drifts off to sleep is over? How did that happen already?

Count your blessings, because things could definitely be worse - I've had a hard time trying to get Josh to sleep since his birth! (As I type he is in his bed, yelling at and harassing Spencer into misbehaving. Grrr...) So to have a baby that goes to sleep too easily? Heaven. :)
Bo did the same thing...one day he basically decided he was done with his bottle. I give him some water in his sippy cup while we read books before bed but that's about it. I think they just do these things when they're ready, but it makes me sad b/c the "baby" part seems to be going away faster and faster.
