night and day

So, we're 4 for 4 now with night-night waves byebye when I've put Eden to bed at night this week. Tonight, she pushed her bottle out of her mouth, put her paci in herself, and then started giggling at me and acting sleepy eyed. When I asked if she was ready to go night-night and get in her bed, she sat up in my arms and pointed toward the crib. I'm really not making this up.

We're also 4 for 4 in the day time. Day time "night night" is, however, a slightly different story. It goes something like this. Around 1:50, I park the car and enter PDO to pick up Eden. When I enter Eden's classroom, she looks up, yelps in excitement, then makes her way my way. I pick her up and get a big hug [the same goes for Ashley when she picked her up]. After getting the scoop about Eden's day and getting her things ready to go, she decides it is time to go back to Ms. Delores for a hug. Then, I ask, "You want to go home?" She nods her head no. After a little persuasion, she comes to me with a slight whine. Then she waves bye-bye to her friends.

On the way home she talks to herself. I talk back. We seem to have a conversation (albeit one that even I can't quite understand). At home, she says she is hungry (by putting her finger in her mouth) so I fix her some vegetable bread and milk. About 15 minutes later she is ready for her pacifier and Miss Georgia. We go to Eden's room and sit on the bed. I ask if she is ready for a nap and point to the crib. She yells. I tell her it is okay and give her a hug. She puts her head on my shoulder and keeps it there for what seems like 5 minutes. Then, it's time for a book. I read her a story then ask again, "You ready for a nap? You can sleep a little while then I'll come in when you wake up." Slightly reticent, she gives a wimper. I place her in her crib. With one look at me she begins to yell at the top of her lungs ... and not in a good way [Ashley agrees that this happens with her, too]. Of course, the screaming only lasts until about a minute (or maybe more off and on) after I have left the room. Two to three hours later, she wakes up and it's time for outside time and dinner.
