My initial excuse for the visit was to go free-shopping in Whit's closet in the hopes of finding some dresses for the wedding weekend we are leaving for today. And, when I say excuse, I do really mostly mean an excuse for getting over there to visit. As you might expect, things turned out even better than I could have planned since it ended up being Whit and Boston's last weekend in their home {they're moving to an apartment in Pensacola so Whit can be close to her PTA program while Boston is away for more training} and it also ended up being the celebration weekend for Boston finishing primary. He was first in his class and pretty much had his choice for the track he wanted. Of course, he chose the fighter/bomber track so he's headed there at the end of the month.
Anyhow, unbeknownst to me, Whitney and Boston planned a fun day for us which included a visit to the base and a hands-on introduction to the planes that Boston trained on for so long ...
We actually go to climb aboard one of the planes. Boston didn't tell us until after Dad was in the cockpit that the plane didn't actually have power. It was still pretty amazing nonetheless.

Of course I had to take some pics of Whit and Boston's cute pup while we hung out at their house ...

After driving into town to see their new apartment, we all got dressed up for a fabulous dinner {really the food was amazing!} to celebrate Boston's big accomplishment.
Whitney and I shared the restaurant's signature dish - a petite filet topped with a fried green tomato and crab meat with a side of three-cheese macaroni. It was absolutely delicious!! Whitney coaxed me into taking a picture of the meal just in time to be caught by the waiter :).
All in all, it was an amazing day, and I'm so glad I got to share the weekend with my Momma and Daddy and Whitney and Boston. So far, I've been to all the places Whitney and Boston have lived. Guess this just means I have to keep up when they're stationed in Italy or Japan!
