playing with the cousins

Sunday was a beautiful day - a perfect day for a swim! Wouldn't you know it, there is a pool at the 147!

After Cass's wedding, Allison (Ashley's 1st cousin), Jeff (Ashley's 1st cousin-in-law), Fable, and Ever (Ashley's 2nd cousins) along with the Jones clan headed back to the 147 to have a large slumber party. Given the production it takes to get that many people fed, dressed, and out of the door on time to church, they all communed outside and in the pool.

Eden got to hang out with her cousins and thank them repeatedly for all her wonderful clothes. Ashley tells me that Fable had the magic touch with Eden, getting her to laugh hysterically almost at will, and that all three girls had a super time chasing eachother behind and around the love seat upstairs.

Of course with the Joneses, Sunday is not complete without a trip to Ichiban. It was perfect since Eden was getting tired and Ashley wanted to keep her up just a little longer to ensure she slept for the 3-hour drive from Jackson to Mobile. Ichiban is full of fish and people, perfect for entertaining a 15-month-old. Plus her cousins were still there along with her Aunt Whitney, Grandmama, and our friends Heather and Reese and their son Clayton.

It worked. Once Ashley got on Hwy 49, Eden was out. When they rolled into the driveway of the 5950, Eden was still asleep. Perhaps we have a new strategy for traveling ... only time will tell.
