Eden's first conversation ...

I know you're thinking, "Yeah, right." But before you judge, let me explain ...

Last Thursday night while Graham was at a banquet, Eden and I attempted our first time leaving the apartment on our own. Other than arriving half an hour late because someone decided she was hungry just as we were about to leave (I should just plan on that, right?), we successfully made it out of the house, dressed, and ready for Eden's first party - a baby shower for my friend Sherry.

On the way to the shower, I had soft classical music playing and had not heard a peep out of Eden for the first 5 minutes of the drive. Of course I got nervous, so I turned off the radio and said, "E-e-den, how ya doin' back there?" Immediately (and I'm not making this up), she responded with 4 or 5 really long cries. My reaction, "Oh gosh, she's going to get upset if I keep talking and she can't see me." So, I turned the radio back on, didn't say another word, and didn't hear another peep out of Eden for the rest of the drive.

It took me awhile to realize we'd just had our first conversation but boy was I excited when I figured it out. Guess the first conversation was pretty uneventful, but I'm looking forward to all the gazillion more to come!
