The great escape

Around 3 p.m. Saturday, March 29, Ashley looked at me and exclaimed, "I know what we can do tonight for dinner!" Given the size of her eyes and the tone in her voice I thought to myself, "How much is this going to cost us?" Without hestitation, I smiled and asked, "What is it?" I mean, seriously, Ashley has been on bed rest for 2 weeks, only getting out of the house to visit the clinic so a nurse can take her blood pressure and prescribe her more medicine. By this point, I would have gone absolutely stir-crazy! Luckily the doctor had released her from "complete" bed rest to "modified" bed rest. Translation: she could go to the store or do laundry. Whoopide-Do!

With a newborn who is not supposed to go out of the apartment and on such late notice, our options were certaily limited ... So, around 5:30 on Saturday evening, Ashley and I took the 3 mile trip to the 5-star Dog n Suds.

Dog n Suds is an old-time drive-up burger and hot-dog stand ... too bad they have since ditched the roller skates. You pull up to the menu, figure out what you want, push a button, and they bring your dinner to you ... Eden was quite impressed!

It is our humble opinion that a trip to Dog n Suds without eating Onion Rings should be punishable by law. And, they make their own Root Beer!

So we successfuly left the house (together) and survived! Eden was content the entire time, sleeping for the most part. Perhaps next weekend we'll attempt another trip ...

I didn't know Ashley was on bed rest and having a hard recovery. I'm sorry I'm such a bad friend! Let me know if you need anything, or if I can provide any other 'escapes'!
