We generally go to a later service, but their church has a 4:00 children focused, family Christmas Eve service. It is usually packed, so we left the house about 3:15 in order to make sure we got good seats. Of course, in usual Bodie style, we were among the first there, in plenty of time. We decided to let Eden crawl around for a little while before sitting down for an hour.
The children's service comes complete with the Cloth Disciples. The Cloth Disciples are a group of life-like puppets that sing and dance, putting on a show to remember.

Words cannot describe how much Eden absolutely LOVED the show. Pictures help ...
... and the video captures some of it ... (we'll post the video as soon as the site starts to work again)
Let's just say that neither Ashley nor I have seen Eden this excited and tuned-into something. As soon as I pointed out the Cloth Disciples, she got on her tippy toes, opened her eyes as wide as they would go, gasped for air, and let out several loud squeals. Apparently, she was loud enough for several rows of people sitting around us (and by around I mean in front, behind, beside, catty-corner, you name it ... if they were within 6 feet, they were paying attention to Eden) to stop watching the puppets and turn their attention to what Eden was doing. That includes two little girls sitting in front of us that spent nearly two songs commenting about how cute Eden was and one lady who took at least one picture of Eden's reactions.
We've always know she should be the center of attention, but this just confirmed what we've always known ... she's the cuttest little girl in the world! We're thinking that the Cloth Disciples and the family-focused Christmas Eve service, the "most irreverent, reverent" service the church has as the preacher likes to call it, may become another Bodie family tradition.
