So, Eden has almost grown out of her car seat. Translation: we are in the market for a new carseat and stroller (since the stroller we have now only works with the carseat that is nearly too small)!
Ashley and I always like to poll our friends when we get a chance so ...
We're thinking of some sort of convertible car seat that faces backwards now but can face forward at her 1-yr bday (and that she can hopefully stay in for a long time). As for the stroller, Ashley's only requirement is that it is lightweight.
Any advice?????

I hope others comment...We're going to need the same thing in another 4 months. Eden continues to be such a beaming beauty. Wish I could give her a big ole kiss...guess you'll have to give an extra one tonight for me. Blessings!
If you want a lightweight stoller, you can't get much easier than a basic umbrella stroller. It's not fancy or anything, but we've always had one and loved it. (We're going to have to buy a new one for this next baby because we wore the last one out on Josh. As with so many things...)
As for the car seat, I don't know that there's a HUGE difference between the super expensive versions and the more mid-range versions. (But the cheapest ones are just that - cheap.) Get one that can convert (like you mentioned) and that will hold her until she's at least 40 pounds. (That's when they can move up to just a booster seat.)
Oh, and this is important: make sure that taking the cover and straps off and such isn't too complicated. Because at some point I promise you'll have to take it all off and wash it. Josh's is sooo dang complicated, I just hate having to take it off and put it back on. And of course he's my messier child. (It's an Eddie Bauer chair, in case you're wondering.)
Okay, sorry about the novel. As you can tell, car seats are an important topic around here!
