Let it snow! Let it snow! ...

So, by now you know we just moved to Louisiana from Indiana. We thought that we had moved far enough South to rid ourselves of that pesky white mess you call SNOW. Think again!

Yesterday morning we woke up to the sights and sounds of snow ... in Louisiana ... The last time Baton Rouge has seen snow like this was 20 years ago. Go figure!

Eden was VERY excited as she looked out the front door ...

We MUST have lived in Indiana too long. Without even thinking, after taking pictures and cleaning the car off, I kissed Ashley and Eden bye and went to campus. Ashley was supposed to drop Eden off at PDO at 9:00 then come to campus and get some work done, too. She kept getting herself and Eden ready without even a thought that they might not be going anywhere. As Lee Corso would say, "Not so fast, my friend!" All the BR schools were closed (except LSU; we had finals). So, PDO was closed too!

We even got an e-mail from the Chancleor asking for our understanding and support for students unable to make it to campus for exams ... for instance, the bridge linking Port Alen to Baton Rouge was completely closed from about 7 until about 11 a.m.! No snowtrucks. No salt. No infrastructure for this white stuff WHATSOEVER! Welcome home!

And I got to be the only one in the neighborhood who had a snow scraper for the car ... much easier than using my hands (since I had given away most of my gloves to Goodwill prior to leaving Indiana). The funny thing is that I only used this twice in Indiana on account that the apartment we lived in for the majority of our time there had a garage!

So, just in case you are still doubting us ... here is PROOF we are actually taking these pictures in Baton Rouge! Thanks, Courtney, for forwarding these photos.


Also, lest you forget that we ALSO EXPERIENCED A HURRICANE THIS SEMESTER. So, within a 4 month time span, we have had some pretty extreme weather. What a semester, indeed!
