father's day fun

On Sunday morning, it wasn't long after Eden awoke that she just had to give me my father's day card. Ashley told me that the one they settled on was the one that got the biggest reaction at the store ... fish! She didn't really want to give it to me; instead, she wanted to play with it herself ... and who could blame her?

After a nice church service and sunday school class, we came back home so Ashley could fix lunch ... yep, you read it right ... for the two dads in her life.
Chip and Christy made the 3 hour drive over and arrived just in time for a lovely meal of shrimp, salad topped with rotisserie chicken and buttermilk ranch dressing, and sister schubert rolls ... and for dessert? Oh my! We had German Chocolate Cupcakes made from scratch ... devine!!!
Eden slept through lunch and woke up in time to brave the outside heat - it has been close to 100 degrees for a week here. Her granddaddy obliged her request to go exploring.
Of course, Father's Day is incomplete without a little chase-me-around-the house.

And a family picture or two.
Although Eden was sad to see her grandaddy and granmommy-CC leave (here she is watching them walk down the street to their car) ...
... she was still thankful for her Dad.

All-in-all, it was a lovely day. I feel blessed every day, Father's Day included, to be able to be called Eden's Dad.
