After our morning walk, Eden and I cooled off by relaxing on the couch, read some books, and then watched some of Sesame Street. In one scene, Big Bird appeared, reading a book to some kids as they sat on the front stoop. When the scene started, we heard Big Bird say,
" ... then Cinderella and the Prince joined a yoga class and lived healthily ever after."
No kidding.
I guess Sesame Street and I have some things in common. The other night while reading abridged versions of fairy tales out of one of Eden's books, I read two-sentence versions of Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella to her and found myself at the end saying, "then Cinderella and Prince Charming fell in love and got married and live happily ever after ... and they talked and talked all the time about their dreams and had great communication. The End." I totally cracked myself up.
Graham later said that if I kept it up, it would provide great material for Eden later in life. Can't you just imagine her in her twenties saying, "Well, my parents are both professors and my mom would add all this stuff in about communicating when she was reading me fairy tales. I didn't even know Cinderella wasn't really like that."
Wonder what else I could change up for laughs? Sesame Street was quite the amusement today.
