–noun
1. the act of retiring or the state of being retired.
2. removal or withdrawal from service, office, or business.
3. a place like heaven where the first grandchild is merely a 3-hour drive away
I think the third definition offered for the word retirement best describes Eden's Grandmommy CC in her new state of being. Last week, we were lucky enough to have G-CC come and visit us for the first of many times in the middle of the week.
Now, Ashley and I are not ones to talk. Neither of us has an official work schedule this summer. So it was nice that three generations got to spend the day together.
And where else would you take your retired grandmother but the dog park?

...except maybe the adjacent play area ...
... and maybe the local library ...
Of course, we're not completely sure as to G-CC's motives for coming. I mean, she did get a brand new car and had yet to enjoy the feeling of showing it off to those who appreciate the finer things in life.
On Saturday (G-CC's last day), Eden stayed home with Daddy while the mother-daughter team got to try their luck in Denham Springs antique shopping. Here are some of the items Ashley and Christy liked but did not purchase ...
The main purchase? Two vintage metal schoolhouse chairs and a small play table.
We have left the table for use as a snack stop and plan to use the chairs when Eden gets a little bigger so that she can practice for lunchtime at PDO next year. Thanks G-CC! We're looking forward to seeing you again soon.
