from last week, June 4 ...
Eden is now napping, and we just returned from a successful trip to Target and to lunch. By successful I mean we didn't spend too much but got some cute things, said hello to lots of nice people while shopping, and Eden stayed happy in the cart the whole time.
I left Target thinking, "Man, target is smart." Today's trip was the first time Eden noticed the huge red balls out front, and she was about to jump out of the cart she was so excited. We've been reading a book recently with red balls in it (is it Hop on Pop or I'll Teach My Dog Lots of Words? hmmm) and she just thought these huge ones were great. I mean how smart is Target?
She was also super excited to stroll down the pet aisles and point out all the kitty cats and puppy dogs. And, yes, I noticed a man on the aisle opposite us getting a chuckle out of Eden's excitement.
After our fun at Target, we stopped for lunch at the Chick-fil-A next door. Let me just say that I love Chick-fil-A. Why, you ask.
First, despite there barely being a parking space outside and a huge line in the drive through, as soon as we walked in the door there was someone smiling at me asking to take my order. No line. Love it.
Second, as the server quickly got my tray ready, there was immediately someone beside us offering to carry the tray to our table for me. Guess carrying a tray with a drink on it with one hand while holding a baby in the other deserves some help. He even grabbed napkins and a straw for me before I even realized it and pulled up a high chair to the table taking away the extra chair. Extra attentive. Love it.
Third, Eden just started to notice all the moo cows today. While she was quite distracted from eating, it was super cute to see her lips purse together as she pointed out all the moo cows on the posters and table-topper and tried to say moo. Plus, all the other kids and nice people eating there kept her fascinated the whole time. Entertainment for the baby. Love it.
Finally, when we were leaving, I asked the same nice gentleman if their to-go bags had a picture of a cow on it so Eden could take one with her. Why not encourage her new moo cow experience? A few minutes later, he returned with a small paper to-go bag and told me to open it outside with a twinkle in his eye (seriously, he really did). When we got to the car, I found a stuffed felt little moo cow inside the bag! Super nice. Love it.
I also participated in a survey while there ... where were you before? where are you going next? will you take the interstate? how much did you spend?
How many people do you bet were at Target before or after?
Anyhow, Chick-fil-A definitely achieved their goal with me. I just love the "moo cow" place.
